a television review.

I have a confession. I watch Bunheads, and I love it. It is hilarious. But for the first few episodes I was pretty skeptical. I felt like it was trying too hard to be Gilmore Girls - something, though despite an almost identical cast, it was not. I giggled a few times. Nothing more. Then last night happened. "The Astronaut and the Ballerina" was everything perfect and hilarious that Gilmore Girls is. It had that effortless dialogue (and lots of it!) that is so delightfully quippy and chock-full of references that you don't get until the next day. It had me laughing out loud - real laughs - many many times. Sutton Foster is brilliant. And even though we all know that she is Broadway, her screen acting is great too. So if you enjoy Gilmore Girls and haven't watched Bunheads, this is my shameless plug to watch the show.

and i love her

we've got some serious puppy/kitty love going on over at our house.
the other morning i couldn't find winston or chloe, and found them curled up together on the bed.
i'm really glad they like each other. (stella is a different story)

scarves

In my opinion, scarves are the perfect fall/winter accessory. They can add so much to an outfit, and come in so many fun colors and patterns. Currently, it's freezing in the southland, so I've brought out the winter wear in full force. (And spent lots of time inside. I don't like the cold.)

and now a little tutorial if you want to tie your scarf like mine:

1 :: fold your scarf in half and put it around the back of
your neck with the loop on one side
2 :: put one of the ends through the loop
3 :: twist the loop once
4 :: put the other end of the scarf through the loop
5 :: adjust it so it will lie flat

even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

I think it's safe to say I enjoyed this movie. A lot. I've seen it three times already. While the movie as a whole was spectacular, I felt like Anne Hathaway (Fantine) and Samantha Barks (Eponine) really stole the show. I did not enjoy Russell Crowe as Javert, but Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean was a very good choice. Best part? Colm Wilkinson as the Bishop - especially when he welcomes Jean Valjean into heaven. Full circle, guys. Full circle. Moral of the story: I will buy it.
